Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, David co-founded a boutique investment counsel firm where he was an Executive Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer from 1993 to 2015. During his tenure as CIO, he helped grow the firm from zero assets under administration to nearly $1.3 billion. He has also worked as a research analyst and portfolio manager at a large trust company.
David joined RBC Dominion Securities to offer clients a level of service that only Canada’s leading wealth management firm can offer. He focuses on utilizing his expertise in equity, bond, and preferred share analysis to maximize returns within client objectives and to help clients achieve their financial goals. David leverages his deep investment knowledge to add value at every step of the portfolio management process – asset class, country, sector, and security selection. David has and continues to implement a disciplined investment approach, marrying detailed company and industry research with broader macroeconomic analysis to build portfolios designed to endure volatility and take advantage of tactical opportunities.

David holds an Honours BA in economics from Wilfred Laurier University and has attained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
